Australia?s first annual multi-disciplinary design awards, the Desktop Create: Awards will seek out and promote excellence in all areas of our rich diverse design community, placing the focus firmly on communication.

The purpose of all graphic design is to communicate, whether it?s to promote a product, convey an identity, express an ideal, evoke an emotion, provoke a response or tell a story. Using design vocabulary as diverse as illustration, typography, photography, animation, web, packaging or print, the designer?s job is to deliver the message.

There are ten categories of Create: Awards: Best Original Illustration, Best Original Photography, Best Website Design, Best 2D Animation, Best 3D Animation, Best Design for Print Media, Best Use of Typography in Print Media, Best Packaging Design, Best Self-Promotion Design and Best Final Year Student Portfolio.

These awards will assist in the development of the industry and build the reputation of designers throughout the country and internationally.
